What do Lutherans believe?
We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We acknowledge one God in these three persons.
We believe that the whole universe was created and is sustained by God. Through God's loving care, God provides for us, protects us, and preserves us.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is our Lord and Savior. He became fully human, suffered, died, and rose again in order to redeem all of humanity. Through Jesus' suffering, death, and resurrection, we are redeemed and become God's children.
We believe that the Holy Spirit calls us into relationship with God, gives us faith to believe in God, and helps us to become more fully the people God intends for us to be.
We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God and that the Lutheran confessions help us to interpret God's Word faithfully.
