Endowment Grants

Let each look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
— Philippians 2:4

The St. John’s Endowment Fund was established in 2011 to Engage God in Our Daily Life by providing funds to worthwhile ministries beyond the scope of the general operating budget of the Congregation, most of which are not directly associated with St. John’s Lutheran Church. God has commanded us to assist in the well-being of others.

The Endowment Fund encourages Christian stewardship by providing an orderly method for receiving and administering unrestricted gifts. The Endowment Fund may receive gifts such as general cash contributions; beneficiary assignments of wills, trusts, retirement plans, life insurance, annuities, and certificates of deposit; and transfers of property including but not limited to stocks, bonds, and real estate if such gifts are in accordance with the purposes of the Fund.

A gift to the Endowment Fund is a lasting contribution to the church. The principal will be invested and will grow for many years to come. Endowment Fund grants are disbursed in the following ways: Benevolence, Capital Expenditures, or Establishment and Funding of New Programs.

The 2024 Grant Application period is open June 1-August 31.
